It All Began When I Confronted My Fears Head On, And Shifted My Beliefs.


Before becoming a health coach, I spent almost ​20 years in the Canadian not-for-profit sector, fundraising, and supporting causes that were important to me. During this amazing time in my life, I embarked on what would become my most important journey that would ultimately lead me back to myself:  trying to have a baby.
​
Over a three-year period, the effects of hormone therapy, invasive testing, miscarriages, and a newly diagnosed heart arrythmia took its toll on my mind, body, and spirit - leaving me stressed, anxious, overweight, depressed, and emotionally depleted. 

In 2018, we decided to move on from our exhaustive attempts to conceive and relocate to California for my Husband's job.  I was desperate for a fresh start. Instead, I faced the hardest and loneliest few years of my life, which would become the most pivotal part of my life's journey.

During this time, I lived with chronic anxiety
​and panic attacks.

My arrhythmia was always acting up, my blood pressure was high, I wasn't
sleeping, I didn’t have much of an appetite,  and I felt sad and depressed
with little motivation to leave the house.  ​
I had to confront the toll this
stress was taking on
 my mental and physical health. ​
It was time to make some changes, ​
​I needed help.

The time that followed was hard but led me ​back to myself.​​


Out walking one day, I discovered a meditation center and decided to sign up for sound healing and restorative yoga classes, which got me out of the house and introduced a peace and relaxation I hadn't felt in years. ​I met a sound healer who introduced me to a whole new world of energy, sound, meditation and self-discovery. I learned to reconnect with my intuition and strengths. To stop fighting my fears, grief, and anger and instead to let it in, process it, find purpose in it, and let it go.

The next part of my journey led me to a holistic nutritionist who taught me how to eat to fuel my body and quiet my fearful heart. She encouraged me to move my body again, something I was afraid to do because of my fast heart rate. She introduced the idea of healing from the inside out and ultimately, helped me release limiting beliefs and fears that I was "sick" with new beliefs that "I am healthy and strong". For the first time in a while, I didn't feel so alone. I started feeling better in my own body, finding what worked for me, and little-by-little my symptoms lessened and subsided.

 Over time, I learned to make room for joy,
​love and new beginnings.

​​The Power Of Community And Good Health Brought Me Back To Life.

My biggest learning was the power of integrative healing on my physical health and weight loss.  It required me to dig deep inside myself, identify how my fears were holding me back from my deepest desires, and shift my beliefs around health and motherhood. By looking inward and doing the work, I learned to truly know and care for myself and to utilize my support and tools when fears resurfaced. 

My heart is now quiet and happy with no signs of panic attacks. ​ My fear and anxiety are manageable with new tools and understanding. My body is happy and healthy after losing 35lbs in a way that nourished me. Most importantly, I'm now making time for my own health on a consistent basis with healthy and balanced, meals, moving my body, and navigating life's ups-and-downs with intention and
​self-compassion.

I obtained my health coach certification from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition where my education has equipped me with extensive, cutting-edge knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching, and prevention. Nutrition, movement, and mindfulness gave me life… a life that I want to spend enthusiastically educating others about the power of self-care. Drawing on this experience, I work with clients to make lifestyle changes and choose health-promoting rituals that produce real and lasting results.

​Before entering the health and wellness field, I spent twenty years as leader in the not-for-profit sector raising funds for numerous charitable organizations. I received a post graduate certificate in Fundraising and Volunteer Management from Humber College (Toronto, Canada), and Bachelor of Arts Degree with a major in Psychology from the University of Windsor (Canada). I recently located to sunny California with my husband, and dog Archie.
